Alcohol Tincture

Tinctures are one of the oldest and easiest ways to consume cannabis. They provide rapid delivery of cannabinoids in comparison to edibles. I love being able to accurately dose beverages anywhere I go.

Ingredients

Grain Alcohol 

Cannabis Flower

Equipment

Mason Jar

Magical Butter Filter Press or fine strainer

To get even more out of your Flower, save it after you strain it. This still contains 20% of the total cannabinoids in the Flower. Freeze it and throw it in a baked good recipe. 

Straining and filtering can be done under vacuum to remove very fine particulate matter. 

Use flavor terpenes to give your tincture your desired taste. Keep in mind the flavor of the plant will still be present. 

A cannabis concentrate can be used to make a tincture. Decarb your concentrate. After it has cooled to room temperature, open the jar and add your Grain Alcohol. Mix until homogenous, bottle, and label. https://saucierwilly.com/pages/how-to-decarb-loose-cannabis-concentrates

Kief can be used instead of Flower. When Decarbing, you may need to shorten the time. 

Do not place this tincture under your tongue as it will burn and be very uncomfortable. Each dose should be diluted with a little water before placing under your tongue. 

How To

Weigh your Flower and record this to calculate dosing. How to Dose your tincture. 

Break up your cannabis Flower by hand and place into a Mason Jar. Add a desiccant packet and close the jar. The Flower will be dry in 12-24 hours. 

Remove the desiccant packet and decarb the Flower. Remove the Jar from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. 

Place the Jar and the Grain Alcohol in a Freezer for 12-24 hours. 

Remove the Jar and the Grain Alcohol from the freezer. 

Start your Alcohol wash: Add Grain Alcohol to the Flower until it covers the Flower and reaches 2 centimeters above it. Cap the Jar. Shake the Jar and place in the freezer for 3 minutes. Shake the jar again at the minute and a half mark. Remove from the freezer. (repeat this step once more to recover all possible cannabinoids) 

Filter the plant material out of the Alcohol using a strainer and clean Mason jar. Cap and label the jar. 

Place the mini funnel on top of the dropper bottle and fill it from the Mason jar. Label the bottle and enjoy!
