Horizontal Refreshment Massage Candle

Light. Extinguish. Pour. Hot wax cools slightly as it sinks through the air. Reaching the skin with an audible tap. Warmth spreads from each drip. Firm hands begin to spread the warmth and the fun begins. As a wax enthusiast, it is difficult to find a massage candle that will give the same feel as a wax play candle when it hits the skin. This formulation will achieve that feel while also soothing aches and pains with a helping hand.

How To Make

Stovetop

Weigh your ingredients using the scale.

Set up the double boiler. Add water to your saucepan/pot. On low to medium heat, bring the water in your sauce pot/pan to a boil then reduce to a simmer.

Add the wax blend, mango butter, and coconut oil to the double boiler; place in/on the saucepan/pot.

Add jojoba oil (if using, add cannabis product here: Using the heated magnetic stirrer, melt any isolates you are using in the beaker with the jojoba oil and then add any extracts or oils. Stir to mix and then continue with the recipe.)

When melted, remove from heat.

Wick the jars. For each container, place the wick in the middle of the container. Use the wick holder for positioning and stability during pouring and curing.

Pour the wax mixture into the containers and let it cool at room temperature. Follow the curing instructions for your chosen wax blend.

Once cured, trim the wicks to a 1/4 of an inch with the wick trimmers.

Microwave

Weigh your ingredients using the scale.

In a microwave safe bowl/glass beaker, melt the wax blend and mango butter at 50% power for 45 second intervals until melted.

Add jojoba oil (if using, add cannabis product here: Using the heated magnetic stirrer, melt any isolates you are using in the beaker with the jojoba oil and then add any extracts or oils. Stir to mix and then continue with the recipe.)

Remove the mixture from the microwave, add coconut oil and mix until melted.

Wick the jars. For each container, place the wick in the middle of the container. Use the wick holder for positioning and stability during pouring and curing.

Pour the wax mixture into the jars and let it cool at room temperature. Follow the curing instructions for your chosen wax blend.

Once cured, trim the wicks to a 1/4 of an inch with the wick trimmers.

How To Use

Light the candle and let it burn until a large pool of oil has formed. The time for this depends on the size of your container. The larger the diameter of your container the longer it will take to form a pool. Also consider the size of the area to be massaged.

Extinguish the flame. Let cool for a few, and use.

Pour the warm oil onto the skin or in your hand and then rub onto the skin.

Relight as needed.

This can be used for massage techniques such as Swedish and Deep Tissue.

Massage Candle Play Tips

Make your play area fire safe and grab a first aid kit, accidents happen.

Have chilled glass or steel toys, ice, or an icepack to add another element to temperature play and cool the skin if needed.

Test the candle on yourself so you know how your partner will feel. The higher it is poured the cooler it will feel on the skin.
