Super Quick Stove-top Cannaoil
Everybody has a weed witch. If you don’t have one I suggest you go find one. Hanging out in the kitchen is what I love to do. I was complaining about the lack of super quick methods that were efficient in extraction, time and potency. If you are going to make your own medicine it shouldn’t need to be complicated. Here is a recipe that has worked well for me. I hope you too will find success with it.
High temperature cooking oil (see oil smoke point information)
When making Cannaoil/butter be mindful of what mg you will have once you are finished. Keep in mind, when cooking teaspoons are best and when baking tablespoons are best. If you do not have multiple oils to use remember there are 3 teaspoons in 1 tablespoon. With that you should be able to dose properly.
This method is great to use when you are making a small amount of oil. The Magic Butter has a minimum of 2 cups that can be used with it.
- In a sauce pot/pan add 1 or 2 cups of high temp cooking oil. (Avocado oil is great for all cooking and baking applications as it is the oil with one of the highest smoke points) Turn the heat to low/med.
- Grind your cannabis finely in an electric grinder. (Manual can be used but it is taxing and won’t be fine enough.)
- Use your thermometer and when the temperature reaches around 220°F sprinkle your cannabis into the oil. It should make a sizzling sound. Bring the temperature up to 350°F, cover with a lid that doesn’t have any holes for ventilation and hold it there for 5 minutes. Take off the heat and let it cool down naturally.
- Strain and put into a glass jar for later use.
