MEDICATE IT
Sub the butter for a high potency cannabutter. A prepared cannabis/hemp concentrate, i.e., distillate, can be used to medicate this recipe instead of using cannabutter.
HOW TO
Preheat the oven to 350°.
Melt butter in a microwave safe bowl for 15-25 seconds. Add orange zest, saffron, vanilla extract and set aside. If using a prepared cannabis/hemp concentrate add it before the orange zest, mix well and then add orange zest.
Warm and soften cream cheese in a microwave safe bowl for 20 seconds. Set aside.
Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, coconut milk powder into a bowl and set aside.
Using an electric mixer, cream the granulated sugar and butter mixture until light and fluffy with the whisk attachment. Add cream cheese, mix thoroughly. Add egg and whisk it fluffy. Change to the paddle attachment.
Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk. The dough will be soft and moldable. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to overnight.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Roll out the dough onto a lightly floured surface to -inch thickness. Cut out the cookies. (Top with crystal sugar if using)
Transfer the cookies to the ungreased sheet pan, sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake until golden brown 10-12 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
Add confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract, Saucier Willy’s Turkish Delight Simple Syrup, water, and salt to the mixing bowl. Whisk until the ingredients are smoothly blended. Dip the front face of the cookies and let the access drip off. Place on a parchment lined sheet pan to harden. (use a spatula to apply the icing if you need to) If using, cocoa powder dust your cookies once on the parchment.
Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Enjoy!
