Festive Cranberry Sauce

As a child, I would love holiday time. The food and family are what I looked forward to the most. We would eat our fill of Christmas supper and head to the dessert table. While everyone else piled their plates high with delicious sweets, I piled mine high with cranberry sauce! We will not allow your holiday table to be graced with a perfectly shaped log of cranberry sauce. Instead, try a scoop of fresh cranberries, crisp lime and herbaceous rosemary. Start a new tradition with this divine creation from The Saucier!

Yield: 1 ½ cups


4 cups cranberries, fresh or frozen

½ cup orange juice

5 tablespoons granulated sugar

4 tablespoons dark brown sugar

2 teaspoons rosemary, fresh

1 teaspoon orange zest

1 teaspoon lime zest

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

1 cinnamon stick

Pinch of salt


Substitute the orange juice for cider for a subtler citrus flavor.

Medicate It

A prepared cannabis/hemp concentrate, i.e., distillate, can be used to medicate this recipe.

How To

Add all ingredients except the sugars to a sauce pot. Put on medium heat.

Cook for 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally.

When the mixture is reduced by half, add the sugars and stir in. Reduce the heat to medium-low heat.

Cook for approximately 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat once your desired consistency is reached.

Refrigerate and serve chilled. Enjoy!
